Toys & Trucks: The C/10 Club Does It Again!
December 29, 2017
If you follow trends in the classic car world, you know that Chevy C/K Series trucks are among the most popular classic vehicles to own these days… and that makes us happy in Pomona because, well, we’ve always loved classic trucks! It’s also partly why we’re so proud to host the C/10 Club and Friends Toy Drive every December! This year’s drive was an overwhelming success, as the Club collected toys and sports equipment to benefit local children and teens through the ABC7 and SoCal Firefighters Spark of Love Fund. Over the past twenty-five years, the Spark of Love Toy Drive has collected over ten million toys for under served children in Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside, San Bernardino, and Ventura counties.
Check out some pictures from the show below, and take a look at the the C/10 Club’s Instagram page to see what else they’ve been up to lately. Then make plans to attend the December 2, 2018 Pomona Swap Meet because the Club’s 4th Annual Toy Drive promises to be even bigger and better. In fact, we’re amending the Club motto: “Good People, Cool Trucks, Great Times… and Lots of Toys for the Kids!”
This is what it’s all about: family, friends, and a love for classic trucks… all coming together for a good cause!
Carlos Vidales came down from NorCal to help collect toys for the drive. This is his survivor ’74 GMC C2500 loaded up! This truck is all original, with only 82k miles!
Tom and Michelle Macias brought out their 1964 C10. This is Tom’s dream car. He’s done most of the work to restore the truck himself, which has taken about 4 1/2 years.
Bruiser! Dave Stevenson rolled in with his powder blue ’68 C10. This truck was built at home with the help of Dave’s brother, Mark. The pair have been working on the truck for almost 3 years, and it’s not quite finished yet. Are classic vehicles ever really “finished?”
This 1970 C10 is owned by Rick Diaz, and it’s actually up for sale! Rick is working on three other C10s so it’s time for this one to find a new home. “There’s just not enough time in the day,” says Rick. I don’t know… sounds like a problem that I wouldn’t mind having!
And all the rest…
