Finding Car Parts Online to Save Time and Money
August 28, 2015
With nearly two months until the next Pomona Swap Meet & Classic Car Show, where can you go right now to find the parts you need for your project? Online, of course! The internet has made our lives so much more convenient, and it has changed the way the world does business. Instead of waiting days for an auto shop to track down hard to find parts for your classic car, you can find the part you need in just minutes with an online search. Sure, you might have to pay extra for shipping, and you won’t get to hold the part in your hand ahead of time to ensure that it’s the exact part you need or that the quality is what you demand, but there’s something to be said for convenience!
Without leaving the comfort of your own home you can find almost any part that you need, whether you’re looking for an entire engine or just a rear-view mirror. And you can find parts that are used or brand new, reproduction or OEM, concours quality or daily driver cheap.
Aside from our very own Pomona Classifieds, an online marketplace where anyone can list cars or parts for sale for FREE, here are a few other websites to help you find parts:
- Hubbard’s Impala Parts specializes in parts, including a lot of new old stock (NOS) for your 1958-1976 Chevy Impala, as well as parts for other full-size Chevrolets. (You can read our interview with James Hubbard here.)
- Rare Parts offers steering and suspension parts for classic and vintage cars going back to 1930.
- Parts Train has a huge selection of aftermarket parts for most cars.
- Summit Racing offers a wide range of performance and replacement parts, as well as accessories, tools, and more.
Of course, there’s nothing like holding a part in your hand so that you can inspect it to ensure that it’s exactly what you want and need. And that’s where the Pomona Swap Meet comes in. With events seven times a year, and over 2,400 swap spaces, there’s no better place to find the parts you need for your classic ride at a great swap meet price. Follow us on Facebook and Twitter to see just what we mean!
