Don’t Get Tied Up in Knots, Forget Those Ropes

Ropes are for dopes; they get frayed, they unravel, they are hard to untie once the granny knot is set and they sometimes loosen up endangering the load. The answer is the beautiful, ubiquitous tie-down strap; the easiest, strongest, and best method for tying down any load or making a repair or any task that your fertile mind can conceive. For example, I was running off road through some very rough terrain and my radiator brackets snapped. Out came the tie straps; I strapped the radiator back to the mounts and successfully continued on my run.
We were camping with another family and I made a swing for the little kids. I took two tie straps, tied a pole to one end of the straps and hooked the other ends to a tree limb. Viola! A swing! Strong and fun, and if it doesn’t keep the kids out of your hair, you can tie them up with the straps.
I have a granddaughter who used tie straps or bungees for belts. Original and trend setting, and useful if you are traveling or hiking. I often thought we should have a contest for the most original use of tie straps – maybe someday.
The Pomona Swap Meet is fortunate to have the premier manufacturer and supplier of “Hefty Strap” at our show. Hefner Products, Inc. houses the Hefty Strap manufacturing in their local headquarters located in Burbank, California. They currently manufacture and sell hundreds of webbing products and cargo restraint systems to the off road enthusiasts as well as warehouse inventory restraint systems for major corporations.
