Our last newsletter introduced you four young at heart cool guys. These gentlemen planned to drive their classic autos from Florida to Chicago to connect with old route 66 and take this historic highway all the way to the west coast.
Their schedule was to end up in Santa Monica on the west coast on June 5th, take a few pictures on the pier and then finish at the Pomona Swap Meet June 6th prior to starting the trek back to Florida.
We can now report that the trip was a huge success.
These road warriors, these heroes of the highway, princes of the pavement, turned back time and cruised to success in a 1949 Packard, a 1968 Cougar convertible, a 1964 Ā½ Mustang and a 1966 Mercury pickup.
Road warriors not looking any worse for the wear! Although Barry, driving the convertible might have been better off with a hat! But then what’s a little forehead peeling after this adventure.
Their trusty and beautifully restored and maintained vehicles are a testimonial to American ingenuity and historical manufacturing prowess.
To follow up with these road warriors, read their entry on their blog about their adventure, http://cruise66.blogspot.com/2010/06/pomona-swap-meet.html or see where their next adventure lies.
Gentlemen, the Pomona Swap Meet salute you and a big thank you for including us in your grand adventure.
